CERTEGO helps three Norwegian municipalities simplify building operations and enhance security

11/3/26, 10:00 AM

The municipalities of Sandnes, Sola and Stavanger have selected CERTEGO as their framework agreement partner for locks and door hardware. Through local service, broad technical expertise and a focus on maintenance and reuse, CERTEGO will help the municipalities keep their buildings secure, accessible and running smoothly.

From keys for a municipal home to access control in a school or automatic doors in a care facility, security solutions need to meet the needs of different services while remaining easy to manage for the people who use and maintain the buildings.

Together, Sandnes, Sola and Stavanger manage around 4,000 municipal rental homes and nearly 2,000 public buildings. The new framework agreement gives the municipalities access to products, installation services and technical support to meet day-to-day needs and plan upgrades.

The right support when it is needed

The agreement covers everything from mechanical locks and door hardware to door automation, finger protection and electronic access control. Products can be collected from CERTEGO’s shop or supplied and installed by technicians with expertise in both mechanical and electronic solutions.

For the municipalities’ facilities teams, this means access to support with everything from individual faults and spare parts to more complex technical issues. The local team is backed by CERTEGO’s resources in system design, facilities management, operations, maintenance and technical support.

Access to a large central warehouse, with overnight delivery available, also helps the team resolve faults quickly and minimise disruption to municipal services.

Making the most of existing equipment

Across a large property portfolio, maintenance and reuse are important elements of long-term asset management. Stavanger municipality places particular emphasis on making the most of existing equipment. CERTEGO will help assess what can be maintained and kept in use, and where upgrades are needed.

“We are seeing sustainability become increasingly important in customers’ requests for quotations. This is an area where CERTEGO can make a real difference. With our knowledge of products, maintenance and asset management, we can help customers make the most of existing equipment and choose solutions that will serve them well over time,” says Hans Christian Andersen, Project Manager at CERTEGO.

When equipment needs replacing, quality, lifespan and the availability of future servicing become key considerations. This helps the municipalities make informed decisions that take both current needs and long-term operation into account.

Shared information makes work easier

All assignments are managed through the municipalities’ property management system, FAMAC, which also holds drawings, technical documentation and contact details for the buildings. Working from the same information makes it easier for municipal facilities staff and CERTEGO’s technicians to prepare for site visits and follow up on completed work.

The framework agreement took effect on 1 October 2026 and runs for two years, with options for two additional one-year extensions. It covers an area stretching from Skjæveland Bridge south of Sandnes to Finnøy in the northern part of Stavanger municipality.
