Sustainability in CERTEGO
“I am responsible” is one of our core values and an integral part of our business philosophy. For us, sustainability is about accountability - about taking responsibility. Responsibility for creating a good and safe work environment, making climate-friendly choices, and building a solid and long-term profitable organization. Our goal is to become the most responsible company in our industry, a role model in sustainability. As an industry leader, we can contribute to a safer and more sustainable world.
Materiality analysis 2022
In 2022, we conducted our first materiality analysis. It provided us with a better understanding of the impact we have across the value chain and the expectations our stakeholders have of us from a sustainability perspective. Insights from the analysis helped us prioritize focus areas, set goals, key performance indicators, and improvement activities that form the foundation of our sustainability strategy and framework.
Our sustainability efforts are divided into three areas: Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG). Within these, we have identified seven priority focus areas that are critical for our sustainability work moving forward.
Our 7 priority focus areas
- Diversity & inclusion
- Transports
- Safety, health & wellbeing
- IT & information security
- Competence development
- Sustainable supply chain
- Packaging & waste
Read more about our activities in these areas in our sustainability report 2022.

CERTEGO Group Sustainability Report 2022
As an industry leader, we can contribute to a more secure and sustainable world. Our long-term target is to be the most responsible company in our industry, a frontrunner in sustainability.
The Sustainability report elaborates on the seven topics that were defined as material and critical for our sustainability work. These are: diversity and inclusion, transport, safety, health and well-being, IT & information security, competence development, sustainable value chain and packaging and waste.
I 2023 CERTEGO will hit an important milestone when we will now also measure scope 3 – (the indirect emissions linked to the purchase of goods and services from suppliers), in addition to scope 1 and 2 (controlled and owned emissions).
Measuring all three scopes enables us to understand our full value chain emissions and focus our efforts on the greatest reduction opportunities.
The threat of climate change is substantial, and it is imperative that we all take decisive action to reduce our emission.

Social Responsibility
CERTEGO's success is attributed to our competent, engaged, and motivated employees. We strive to be a workplace that offers a healthy, positive, and secure environment, where individuals can develop skills and learn new things. The people at CERTEGO are our most asset, and their health, safety, and well-being are absolutely fundamental to us at CERTEGO.

Environmental Responsibility
The climate crisis is the greatest challenge of our time, and it's crucial that we all take action to reduce our negative impact. Our largest emissions stem from transportation, and we measure greenhouse gas emissions in Scopes 1 and 2 according to the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. In 2023, we will also begin measuring emissions in Scope 3 (indirect emissions linked to the purchase of goods and services from suppliers).
